Shooting Stars will be shooting tonight - of course Shooting Stars are really meteors entering our atmosphere and most burning.
Any of them that reach the ground are called Meteorites - anything from Outer Space including Meteorites are very valuable.

I've been able to watch meteor showers before but in the winter, it's hit & miss with the weather.

Yeh, hit or miss in the winter. Although Astronomers do find the winter season, if the sky is clear, to be one of the best times to look through telescopes.

There's more brighter stars & constellations this time of year so it makes for good stargazing for all levels, even without a telescope.
