On my motorycle, twice I've come upon mama deer with her fawns. Twice the mama took off up the mountain straight right or left. However, the fawns will take off down the trail and I give my Yamaha hell and simply can't catch them - they are spotted and less than 3 feet or about 3 feet tall.
Also, fawns are not afraid of humans or other animals when born, they will let you pet them but don't get them use to humans. Also, coyotes are feasting on them now.

Well, I borrowed the photo from the free google photos. I have the Pentax camera (DSLR) & you probably do too. I seem to have found that most everything I post about on the Science page, like 99% of it has already been photographed. That became frustrating to me as a amateur digital photographer - does it ever frustrate you.
However, I plan to get back into Pentax dslr amateur photography! There are 2 unique things I've seen recently that wouldn't be in google images, which are some really cool 100+ year train track workings and also this really old wooden rocking chair on the front porch of a very very old abandoned house.
So yes, Pentax dslr photography will still have a place in my life again, very soon.
I've also found that my interest in photography comes and goes, does yours? I may go 6 months without taking a pic then one day fire off a thosand tele pics or macro pics to try to get the perfect image.
Of course, I'm assuming you came here from Pentaxforums.com, am I correct?

Just a word to the wise on that fawn image, Michael... A reverse image search shows it's in use by several websites, including wisconsin.gov - and they credit the image to "iStock/4loops" (iStock is a Getty Images stock photo website). If you go to iStock and search for "4loops", you'll find that fawn image in amongst all the others. Click on it and you'll come to this page:
As you can see, it's not a free image - there's a charge for authorised use, in addition to which you need to credit the source. Lots of websites are using it - some apparently without paying for the licence and crediting the photographer, but they shouldn't.
I only mention this as I wouldn't want you to be on the receiving end of "unauthorised use" claims for this or any other images you might borrow from web (a lot of photos found online are copyright by the photographer or image hosting site)... Another good reason to get back into photography, so you can post your own photos
Check out website Unsplash... they have lots of photos you can use royalty-free - including these:
